Event Description

This month, the Hoosier Social Impact Fund, a Bloomington-area non-profit, has invited Local First Bloomington members to join a free workshop on online marketing, titled Improving your Digital Presence. This event will offer an opportunity for Bloomington-area businesses to learn from experienced practitioners within the digital media space. This agenda includes panel discussions and time to work in small groups to evaluate how your business can improve its presence online.

Potential discussion topics include:

  • Referrals: How do I increase my referrals from previous customers and other businesses?

  • Advertising: How can I focus my efforts on quality leads and avoid advertising to the wrong audience?

  • Search Engine Optimization: How do I ensure my business is the first result on Google?

  • Social Media: How do I know what content is relevant to my customers? How do I create relevant content with limited time/resources? How much is enough?

Food will be provided, so we kindly ask that you RSVP using the free ticket option linked here. . Last-minute RSVPs and walk-ins are welcome.

SUMMER SCAVENGER HUNT JULY 1-JULY 29

Happy Summer, everyone! This is such a fantastic time to be local and here at Local First Bloomington we want to encourage everyone to get out and explore the places that make our city so great!

We're making it super fun and easy with a month long scavenger hunt! Each week during the month of July we'll be highlighting a different facet of Bloomington, and all you have to do is take a photo of the task and post it to social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) with the hashtag#shopbtown during the specified dates. Make sure to tag Local First Bloomington (localfirstbloom on Twitter and Instagram) and include the name of the business, location, organization, etc where you are.

We encourage you to be as creative as you can with your photos, we want to see your side of Bloomington!

We'll be giving away a prize every week with a grand prize drawing at the end of August. The more often you enter, the more chances you have to win! Good luck!

Just to let everyone know if you're playing along on Facebook please make sure your privacy settings allow us to see your photos so you can be included in the prize drawing! If you are not comfortable with changing your settings you can post pics directly to the LFB Facebook page or here on the events page. Thanks and have fun with the #shopbtown Summer Scavenger Hunt!

SUMMER SCAVENGER HUNT WRAP PARTY 8/28

Join us on August 28th from 5-7 at Cowork Btown (Member LFB) as we celebrate the conclusion of our Summer Scavenger Hunt and draw the grand prize winner!

For those of you playing along you have all been entered to win the grand prize drawing. Even if you haven't won the weekly prize you can STILL be a winner! You do not need to be present to win but we encourage you to join us because that's half the fun. Haven't been playing along? You can still enter to win local prize packages just by showing up to the party!

Complimentary cocktails and mocktails will be provided by LFB Member Cardinal Spirits.

Food will not be provided. Why, you may ask? Because LFB Member The Chocolate Moose is hosting Food Truck Friday right across the street and nothing we could serve you could compare to that! We encourage you to step on over and sample some of the best mobile cuisine Bloomington has to offer! Come back to Cowork and enjoy your dinner with a Cardinal Spirits cocktail and play some lawn and carnival games with your friends and family.

We'd like to thank our members who have donated items to our efforts this summer...
